If you are visiting Epcot for the day and are looking for a different and fun dining experience, then Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion is a place to try. Here you sit within a Medieval inspired castle, enjoy some tasty treats while Disney princesses come and visit you.

The food is served family to your table, so no long queues at a buffet or worrying about missing your favourite princess, and it is all you can eat. If there is something you would like more of, they will happily bring more of it. The princesses walk around the room, stopping at every table to have a chat and pose for pictures, and they will sign autograph books too. There is no PhotoPass photographer working the room and no arrival photo taken, so the pictures are down to you, bring your own camera and your autograph book. Across our visits we have met Ariel, Belle, Tiana, Snow White, Aurora and Cinderella, so there is a proper line-up here rather than one princess doing the rounds. We have eaten here at both breakfast and dinner.
Breakfast is the one we highly recommend, you get a selection of fruit, pastries, salami and hams, a skillet of eggs, bacon, hash and waffles, and the smoked cheese. There is juice and cold sodas to drink. It is all you can eat, so if there is something you want more of, you only have to ask and they will bring it out to you. The thing we still talk about is that smoked cheese, which is lovely and not something you expect to find on a Disney breakfast table.

Dinner is a proper Norwegian spread. It starts with lefse, a traditional flatbread served with cinnamon butter, alongside cheeses and a green salad with lingonberry vinaigrette. Then the platters come out: kjøttkake, which are Norwegian meatballs, salmon, chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans and macaroni cheese. Pudding is a plate of Norwegian-inspired desserts.

During your meal the Princesses will come to your table for a meet and greet, you usually have around 4/5 princess in total. They will sign autographs and also pose for photos as well
Of the two, it comes down to the food, and the breakfast spread is the one we would go back for. You can book Akershus Hall via My Disney Experience on the app or the Walt Disney World website, usually around 60 days in advance, and Disney Dining Plans are accepted.
