Disney Cruise Line is changing how dinner works at Palo. The prix-fixe menu is going, and Palo, Palo Steakhouse and Palo Trattoria are all moving to an à la carte menu built around the dishes guests order most. We found out the same way a lot of you will have, from an email that landed ahead of our next sailing.
What's changing

The set-price dinner menu is being retired across the whole fleet. In its place, each Palo will serve a selection of guest favourites, priced dish by dish. The switch is rolling out ship by ship over a few days:
- 22 October: Disney Wonder
- 23 October: Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish
- 24 October: Disney Destiny, Disney Magic and Disney Treasure
- 26 October: Disney Adventure
What happens to the Castaway Club benefit
Platinum and Pearl members, along with guests staying in the same stateroom, get a $55 USD* per-person credit to spend at Palo. In practice that often meant a complimentary dinner from the prix-fixe menu, with just drinks and gratuities to pay.
However, this is now changing. The credit can only go towards the à la carte dinner menu, drinks, gratuities and anything you order beyond the credit are charged to your account.
Our take
The credit is the same amount the prix-fixe menu cost, so on paper nobody loses out. Where it differs is that the old menu was a full meal for one price, and the credit is a fixed amount set against individually priced dishes. Will it still cover a full dinner? That depends on the new menu prices, and we haven't seen them yet. We'll report back after our next sailing.
If you already have a booking
You can check or change an existing Palo reservation in the My Reservations section of the Disney Cruise Line website. You can also change pre-arranged activities online up to three days before you sail.
